Obituary of Helen Perkins
Mrs. Helen Maxine Perkins, 93, Crawfordsvillle, passed away early Thursday morning, February 8th, 2018, at the St. Francis Heart Center, Indianapolis. She was born February 17th, 1924, in Montgomery County to Floyd Otis and Mary Elizabeth (Stephens) McCance. She married Paul Emerson Perkins in St. Louis, Missouri on October 11th, 1942. He preceded her in death on June 19th, 1992.
Maxine was a Homemaker; had been a Proofreader at R.R.Donnelleys; and retired when she was 87 from Thrifty Supply where she was the Bookkeeper. She was a 1942 graduate of Alamo High School and was a member of the Abundant Life Church and the Byron Cox American Legion Post Auxiliary. In her free time she enjoyed playing cards; reading; and being with her family.
Maxine is survived by her daughter: Patricia Perkins, Crawfordsville; her son: Thomas Perkins, Crawfordsville; and her sister: Bonnie (Dale) Cohee, Crawfordsville. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Kelly Ann (Greg) Cissell, Chesterfield, Missouri; Kyle Thomas (Keira) Perkins, Speedway; Matthew Paul Perkins, Crawfordsville; great-grandchildren: Evan and Anna Cissell of Chesterfield, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother: Guy McCance; nephew: Michael McCance; grandnephew: Timothy Venis; and her grandniece: Whitney Cohee.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, February 12th, at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, with Rev. John Pettigrew officiating. Entombment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from Noon until the service time.
